Grupo de moradores da cidade transforma parada de ônibus em biblioteca, em Cachoeirinha
“Em Cachoeirinha [Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil], quem espera o ônibus na parada 58, no sentido Cachoeirinha/Porto Alegre, não tem motivo para ficar no celular enquanto o coletivo não vem. Isso porque este ponto, em especial, é diferente de outras paradas espalhadas pela cidade da Região Metropolitana.
Além da cobertura metálica e dos bancos, o ponto de ônibus conta com um estante recheada de livros. Todos gratuitamente à disposição dos passageiros. A ação faz parte do projeto Leitura Urbana, criado por três moradores de Cachoeirinha. A iniciativa entrou em funcionamento há cerca de dois meses e está fazendo sucesso.
— Nossa principal intenção é incentivar a leitura. Hoje, a gente sente que as pessoas leem cada vez menos livros, as vezes, por falta de oportunidade. Nós queremos oportunizar isso para todos que passam por ali — conta o auxiliar administrativo Rodrigo Quadros da Silva, 32 anos, idealizador do Leitura Urbana.”
City residents group turns bus stop into library in Cachoeirinha
“In the city of Cachoeirinha [State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil], whoever waits for the bus at stop #58, in the direction of Cachoeirinha / Porto Alegre, there is no reason to stay on the cell phone while the collective is not coming. This is because this special bus stop is different from other stops scattered around this city of the [Porto Alegre] Metropolitan Area.
Besides the metallic cover and the seats, that bus stop has a bookshelf full of books. All free of charge for the passengers. The action is part of the Urban Reading project, created by three residents of the city of Cachoeirinha. The initiative started about two months ago and is succeeding.
– Our main goal is to encourage reading. Today, we feel that people read less and less books, sometimes because of lack of opportunity. We want to give this opportunity to everyone who goes there”, said administrative assistant Rodrigo Quadros da Silva, 32, who created Urban Reading.”
